Vice President of Education - The Museum of Latin American Art, seeks a Vice President of Education to lead the Museum’s educational programs. The VP of Education will provide leadership and vision for the education programming that explores Latin American art and culture. This position participates as a member of the senior management team and reports directly to the President/CEO.
Master’s Degree in Art Education, or related field required; 5-8 years experience in planning and organizing museum educational programs required. Curator to provide leadership and expertise in development of exhibits, collections and public outreach strategies for museum that interprets Arizona’s people and government
Required: knowledge and experience in professional museum practices; familiarity with PastPerfect; and knowledge of western history.
Qualifications: M.A. in history or related field; five years experience in exhibits and collections management; and three years supervisory experience.
Starting Salary: $40,000 - $48,000 per year, DOE
Note: This position is not covered by the Arizona State Merit System Rules.

Assistant Registrar - The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County seeks an Assistant Registrar to work with our Research and Collections department. The Assistant Registrar is primarily responsible for the records and record keeping for museum acquisitions and outgoing loans, including maintenance and processing of paper files, and development of the electronic database. The position is also responsible for technical and administrative activities, and works with collections for exhibits as needed. This position reports to the Chief Registrar and is expected to work with minimal supervision and supervises interns and/or volunteers as necessary.
This position has the following requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Art History, Museum studies or related field.
Two - three years of museum registration experience.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with word processing and demonstrated experience with automated collection records (KE-EMu experience preferred).
Knowledge of museum registration methods, collections management practices and object handling.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Extended periods of standing, stooping, reaching, etc. could be required during exhibit installation and de-installation. A respirator could be required if working in collection storage areas.
Must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to work well alone as well as in a group setting in order to interact effectively with a wide variety of staff members and outside individuals.
